  • HUNDREDS OF NEW JOBS TO BE CREATED
  • ORDER FOLLOWS MAJOR PPE CONTRACT WITH NHS SCOTLAND

Globus Group is proud to announce it has been awarded a contract to manufacture around 50 million high performance FFP3 masks for supply to Dept. of Health and Social Care. Our PPE will enable dedicated healthcare professionals to do their jobs safely on the frontline of the fight against COVID-19.

The Group has almost three decades of experience in the manufacture and supply of disposable masks and respirators supporting worker safety across industry and healthcare. This equipment for Dept. of Health and Social Care will be produced at our new manufacturing facilities in North West England which, in addition to our South West Scotland facility, will create hundreds of new jobs. These new facilities represent a significant capital investment which is designed to provide British manufacturing capacity for the long term.

Our support for Dept. of Health and Social Care mirrors similar work with NHS Scotland, announced last month by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon for FFP3 respirators and surgical masks.

We welcome these important commitments from government in London and Edinburgh to purchase critical PPE equipment from British manufacturers. They send a positive signal to business and give us the confidence to continue investing in British jobs, workmanship and innovation.

Our investment in bringing back the production of respirators to the UK had already begun before COVID-19 placing us in a strong position to accelerate this in response to increased urgent demand. British manufacturing resilience and capacity is key to supplying the front lines with PPE with reliable volumes at a competitive cost.

As one of the largest PPE companies in the UK our priority going forward is to ensure we have sufficient capacity to supply the requirements of our customer base as well as the ability to cater for any surge in demand from any future waves or pandemics. We plan further investment to increase our ability to provide critical respiratory and hand protection as well as accelerated investment into sustainability.
