Globus is at the forefront of hand protection technology, offering an array of gloves designed to meet the demands of various industries. From mechanical to chemical, cut to thermal protection, our gloves are engineered to ensure safety and comfort across diverse applications.

Materials play a pivotal role in the production of our safety gloves, each selected meticulously to deliver optimal performance.

Glove Liners:

Liners form the foundation of our gloves, providing essential comfort and protection for the wearer. Here, we explore the materials utilized in our liners and their unique benefits.

Polyester/Nylon: Synthetic fibres known for their lightweight strength and elasticity, ideal for general handling gloves.

  • Lightweight, yet robust with excellent elasticity.
  • Offers superior abrasion resistance and durability.
  • Lint-free and quick-drying, ensuring longevity.
  • Environmentally conscious options with recycled polyester (rPET) from PET bottles.
  • Polyester and Nylon are highly flammable, so not ideal for applications around flames.

Cotton: Natural cellulose fibre, soft and flexible, commonly used in general handling gloves.

  • Natural cellulose fibre that is soft and flexible.
  • Absorbs perspiration, enhancing comfort during prolonged use.
  • Medium mechanical resistance, so needs to be mixed with polyester for higher resistance.

Leather: A classic choice, offering a cushioning effect, flexibility, and resistance to penetration and sparks.

  • Provides a cushioning effect and flexibility.
  • Offers good resistance to penetration and sparks, making it suitable for various industrial applications.
  • Leather has a lack of sensitivity on the fingertips, so not ideal for touchscreen applications.

Para-Aramid: Heat-resistant and strong synthetic fibres, lightweight, comfortable, and flame-resistant, offering exceptional cut protection.

  • Renowned for its heat resistance and strength.
  • Lightweight, comfortable, and flame-resistant.
  • High tensile strength for exceptional cut protection.
  • Reactive to UV – not ideal for UV environments as the glove will change colour overtime.

Safety Glove Materials:

These materials are used in crafting the gloves themselves and are carefully selected to provide maximum protection and performance in various environments and applications.

HPPE:

  • High strength and high modulus fibre
  • Outstanding abrasion and cut resistance.
  • Does not conduct heat, offering comfort in various conditions.
  • Provides chemical resistance.
  • 15 times stronger than cross-section steel wire for a similar diameter.
  • No protection against heat, so not ideal for environments where handling of hot components is required.

Glass Fiber:

  • Consists of numerous extremely fine fibres of glass.
  • Flexible material offering low to medium-cut protection.
  • Provides value for money while ensuring safety.

Steel Fibre:

  • Highly flexible with superior high-cut protection.
  • Touchscreen compatibility for seamless device usage.

PU (Polyurethane):

  • Thin coating with excellent dexterity.
  • Suitable for dry, greasy, or slightly oily conditions, offering breathability and abrasion resistance.
  • The material absorbs water, so not ideal for wet handling.

Nitrile Foam:

  • Breathable material with exceptional grip in diverse conditions.
  • Absorbs oil for enhanced grip and abrasion resistance.

Nitrile:

  • Liquid-proof coating with superior abrasion and puncture resistance.
  • Ensures excellent grip in dry conditions for enhanced safety.
  • Slippery in oily conditions so not ideal for wet or oily handling.

Latex:

  • Water-repellent coating with durable grip.
  • Offers protection in both dry and wet conditions, including contact heat resistance.
  • Can cause allergic reactions in people with allergies, nitrile is a smart substitute used in our range of disposable gloves.

Each material is carefully chosen to meet the specific requirements of different tasks and environments. Whether it's mechanical protection or chemical resistance, our gloves prioritize safety without compromising on comfort or performance.
