23rd June 2021

The PPE manufacturer has given respirators, visors and disposable gloves to Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) ahead of Children's Hospice Week 2021 (21st - 27th June).

Leading Scottish PPE firm Alpha Solway has donated over £20,000 of vital personal protective equipment to Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) to help support the charity's invaluable work throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thousands of protective products, including medically certified respirators, nitrile gloves and visors, has been issued to the charity by Alpha Solway, part of Globus Group, the largest British-based PPE manufacturer, offering vital support to staff and patients ahead of Children's Hospice Week 2021.

CHAS offers a full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions across the region. Alpha Solway is supporting Children's Hospice Week 2021 to help raise awareness for palliative care services across the UK.

In the last year, the business has invested in new manufacturing facilities across the South of Scotland and the North West of England, creating hundreds of new jobs producing world class PPE. This followed contract wins with NHS Scotland and the Department of Health and Social Care to help protect frontline workers throughout the continuing Covid crisis.

Globus Group CEO Haraldur Agustsson said: " The extraordinary dedication of people working in hospices is humbling and in these unprecedented times, we're proud to support those committed to keeping vulnerable, young people safe. With a strong heritage of over 30 years in the South of Scotland, we're passionate about supporting the community. CHAS plays a hugely important role within our community and has faced an immensely challenging year in keeping both young patients and employees protected in the fight against Covid-19. Globus is absolutely committed to doing everything we can to help those who go the extra mile."

Rami Okasha, Chief Executive at CHAS added: "We have been incredibly well supported by Alpha Solway in their PPE donations, ensuring the children we look after are well protected. It is particularly poignant that we celebrate this partnership on Children's Hospice Week. Sincere thanks go to Haraldur and the team for all their efforts."
