2016/425 (EU) is the European Regulation covering the manufacture and sale of PPE into Europe. This superseded the PPE Directive 89/686/EEC in April 2018. However, the certificates for products manufactured in accordance with the directive whilst it was in force are valid until 21st April 2023.
CATI | Minor Risk the lowest level in which PPE is required. |
CAT II | Reversible Risks (injury), certified compliant by a notified body. |
CAT III | Irreversible Risks certified compliant by a notified body. Also subject to ongoing surveillance by a notified body whose number is specified. |
