EN 27065:2017 + A1:2019
European standard that specifies the performance requirements and testing methods for protective clothing used by workers applying pesticides and other plant protection products. This standard is primarily focused on ensuring that protective clothing offers sufficient protection to individuals from exposure to pesticides, which can be harmful through skin contact, inhalation, or ingestion.
- The standard applies to protective clothing worn by operators and workers during pesticide handling, such as mixing, loading, spraying, or applying pesticides.
- It covers clothing designed to protect against liquid chemicals, particularly pesticide formulations and plant protection products.
Protection Levels:
EN 27065:2017 defines three levels of protection, depending on the intensity of the exposure to the pesticide:
- Type 1: High-level protection for activities with the highest risk, such as mixing and handling concentrated pesticides.
- Type 2: Intermediate protection for activities where there is moderate exposure risk, such as spraying diluted pesticides in certain conditions.
- Type 3: Lower-level protection for activities with lower risks of exposure, such as general work after the application of pesticides.
